Who can submit

Submissions are welcomed from recovery workers who directly support individuals with mental health issues, substance misuse problems, or complex needs such as homelessness or unemployment.

This includes practitioners and managers with direct supportive contact with individuals needing support.

What can be submitted

Submissions should be grounded in professional experience and relate to how change or non change has been lived over time within recovery practice.

Formats include written, audio, video, and visual or artistic work.

Format guidance

Written work should be submitted as Word or PDF files. Handwritten submissions are not accepted.

Visual or artistic work should be clearly photographed.

Audio submissions may be provided in any format and will be converted to MP3.

Video submissions may be provided in any format and will be converted to MP4.

What is not expected

Submissions do not need to follow a template, reach conclusions, or demonstrate outcomes.

Narratives of success, transformation, or advocacy are not required.

Practical considerations

There are no set length requirements.

Contributors are encouraged to use a personal email address.

All submissions are reviewed prior to publication. Submission does not guarantee publication.

Ethics, consent, and use

By making a submission, contributors confirm informed consent.

Contributors agree that material may be published and used within the context of the project.

Requests for withdrawal after publication may take time to be attended to.

Participation is unpaid.
